# Energy

Energy is an account-wide resource that refills to 100% at the beginning of every week. The more Energy a player has, the more games they can predict (and hence, the more Leaderboard Points they can win).

## Maximum Energy&#x20;

{% hint style="info" %}
Rooky Balls have 0 Prestige. As such, the energy of a Rooky player is always 100.&#x20;
{% endhint %}

$$
Energy = RoundUp (100 + Prestige\*3.4)
$$

![Energy is an affine function of Prestige.](https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/or6U1c70yWmdz_cWuhHq7l9KV187UKeDdI2gdWVe0dSGgq8gECyRic7Jgm9UMHqEWiso01O1Izxcv-gOCBqT9vYWdFjIz2CvwgKTeSwR3MJxHBeFkwEBCw1nA65veudmmMpG-xwVzat-kJuBGs7MFQ)

In the Prestige Example, the player had an Epic, Level 40 Pookyball and a Rare, Level 60 Pookyball. This equals 19 Prestige Points (7 for the Rare, 12 for the Epic).&#x20;

Using the formula above, these two Pookyballs would net an extra 64.6 Energy Points, for a total of 164.6.

Players with lots of Pookyballs and/or Pookyballs with high Prestige can generate more Energy than they can potentially use. A future update of Pooky will allow players to store excess Energy in Batteries. Energy is a precious resource - as Cristiano Ronaldo will tell you - and we don’t want to waste it. Batteries can be sold on the marketplace or used by the player at a later time.&#x20;

Here are sample values of recently minted balls to help players make the comparison.

<table><thead><tr><th width="157">rarity</th><th width="126">level</th><th width="180">prestige</th><th>extra energy</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Common</td><td>0</td><td>2</td><td>6.8</td></tr><tr><td>Common</td><td>40</td><td>3</td><td>10.2</td></tr><tr><td>Rare</td><td>0</td><td>4</td><td>13.6</td></tr><tr><td>Rare</td><td>60</td><td>7</td><td>23.8</td></tr><tr><td>Epic</td><td>0</td><td>8</td><td>27.2</td></tr><tr><td>Epic</td><td>80</td><td>16</td><td>54.4</td></tr><tr><td>Legendary</td><td>0</td><td>16</td><td>54.4</td></tr><tr><td>Legendary</td><td>100</td><td>36</td><td>122.4</td></tr><tr><td>Mythic</td><td>0</td><td>32</td><td>108.8</td></tr><tr><td>Mythic</td><td>120</td><td>80</td><td>272</td></tr></tbody></table>

{% hint style="info" %}
Stickers also contribute to your maximum energy. They grant 20% of the prestige of a Pookyball of similar rarity and level.&#x20;

As an example, a level 60 Rare Sticker grants 1.4 Prestige.
{% endhint %}

## Refilling & Increasing Energy

Throughout the game development, we'll develop alternative ways for the players to get extra energy or predict more, such as:

* Specialized NFTs
* Specialized Stickers
* Storing energy between weeks
* Crafting tradable Batteries and Energy drinks.&#x20;

{% hint style="warning" %}
Leveling up, or minting NFTs will grant both Current and Max energy.&#x20;

Purchasing from the secondary market will grant Max energy, but will not increase Current energy, to prevent exploitation cases.

In short, this means the NFT distribute their energy recharge all at once, during the energy reset period.&#x20;
{% endhint %}

### Increasing Maximum energy

It is also possible to purchase maximum energy by increments of (1) in the application. This will mint a NFT to your wallet. You can hold several of those.

The price of energy purchased this way is in line with the current Mint price of Common Pookyballs, to protect the value of those assets as energy generation engines.&#x20;

{% hint style="info" %}
*For avid readers, please note that a previous plan to allow energy refills directly with MATIC and POK has been removed for now, for legal reasons.*
{% endhint %}
